Dr Reading is a senior medical statistician at the Research Design Service South Central.

She completed an MSc in Statistics with Applications in Medicine at the University of Southampton, before joining the Medical Research Council Environmental Epidemiology Unit in Southampton where she was based for 10 years. Isabel gained her PhD in 2003 exploring the methodology and application of cluster analysis techniques in the classification of common musculoskeletal disorders of the neck and arm.

Her expertise lie in the analysis of epidemiological studies, in particular case-control studies, within the bone and joint programme of research. Isabel was also involved in teaching epidemiology to MSc statistics students, supervising their end of year projects, and was a statistical reviewer for a variety of medical journals before joining the RDS.
